Economic Development Authority

The Economic Development Authority (EDA) was established in the Town in 2017 and consists of up to seven members each serving four-year staggered terms. The EDA operates separately from the Town Council and is able to take action on their own.  EDA's encourages diverse commercial, industrial, and economic interest.  The primary purpose of the Dayton EDA is to administer the Facade Enhancement Grant. The EDA meets quarterly to review and take action on the applications, unless there are no applications that quarter to review.

EDA members are not required to be residents of Dayton; however, if they are not, they must be a resident in an adjacent locality (Rockingham County).  EDA allows Council members to serve, but Council members may not be the majority on the EDA.  Meetings are held on an as-needed basis in the Council Chambers of the Dayton Town Hall.It is also desirable that EDA members have an interest in business development within the Town of Dayton.
