Dayton Planning Commission

Planning Commission Members are appointed by the Council and serve a four year term. The Planning Commission invites you to attend their meetings held in the Council Chambers (north entrance adjacent to the drive-thru window) at the Dayton Municipal Building, 125 Eastview Street, on the third Thursday of the month at 6:00 P.M. (unless otherwise announced).

The Planning Commission is responsible for studying, reviewing and making recommendations to Council on matters related to planning, zoning, and subdivision.  This includes any changes to the zoning ordinance and the review and recommendation of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan every five (5) years and the Town's Capital Improvements Program annually.  Most matters referred to Council from the Planning Commission must go through the public hearing process, which is typically held jointly with the Town Council.  After the public hearing, Planning Commission meets and makes a recommendation to Council.
