Public Works

The Town of Dayton Public Works Department is responsible for buildings and grounds maintenance throughout the town, including parks maintenance. The department is also responsible for scheduled monthly large item refuse and weekly yard waste collection. Although VDOT owns and maintains most of the roads in Dayton, the public works crew mows public rights of way, such as Route 42, maintains sidewalks and trails, and coordinates with VDOT as needed. The department also repairs water and sewer lines and manages storm water drainage system projects.
