Melody Pannell

Councilperson

Ms. Pannell is a native of Harlem, New York City, where her interests developed concerning addressing social disparities, health inequities and public policies within the community.  She moved to Dayton in 2015 and intentionally chose our town because of its rich history, sense of community and peaceful environment. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University and was recently appointed as the Inaugural Director of Diversity and Community Engagement at UVA Health in Charlottesville. Ms. Pannell is excited to bring her experience in administration, facilitation and mediation to the Dayton team. (Term expires 12/31/2026)
